By now, you’ve probably seen the chicken cordon bleu (aka chicken and cheese) dish on a chicken-and-egg breakfast menu at any of your local restaurant.
For those who aren’t familiar with the dish, chicken and eggs are mixed together and baked until they are crisp and cooked through, often on a hot stove.
Cordon bleus are a classic, but can be made at home, too.
And for those of you who have never made them before, they’re easy to make at home too.
First, make a chicken cattery.
You’ll need:1 chicken breasts1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt1 cup of cream (1/4 cup of milk or 2 tablespoons of water)1 cup cheese (I used Parmesan cheese)1 tablespoon of olive oilFor the cordon blanc sauce, combine the chicken breasts, garlic salt, cream, cheese, and olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-low heat.
Once the chicken begins to cook, remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients, stirring to combine.
Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and the sauce is thickened.
Serve the chicken with the cattery and a side of your choice of bread, lettuce, or spinach, if desired.
